Thursday, March 31, 1949
It has been snowing & blowing all day. I've been sewing. I made some pants for Tommy, Paul & Andy & some aprons for the girl, also patching & sewing quilt blocks. Tiny did most of the ironing & I finished it.

After Milt went to work I put the tub of water on the stove. Then I sewed till after Tiny & Roger & the kids ate breakfast then we washed. Tiny walked up & got the mail. It is stormy this evening. I've been sewing all evening.
Tuesday, March 29, 1949
I rode to Cottonwood with Mrs. Hodges & went to Martha's for a few minutes then on to Minnie's. I ironed a while then went over to Atha's & then to see Uncle Almie, then by to see Flora & Bob on my way to Relief Society. There were 7 present & after Mildren game her lesson, we served refreshments. I walked back over to Minnie's & Milt came by & I cam home with him. I didn't go to M.I.A.

Monday, March 28, 1949
I rode down to Clarkdale with Mrs. Hodges & walked over to Mable's. I was thru washing & ironing at 11:30. I ate lunch with Mable & the wind was blowing terribly abt 1 oclock so I called Rita & she said Bill was taking a load of lumber to the mine, so I walked over to the corner and waited a while till Bill came & rode up the hill with him. Mable gave me a lot of dresses & 2 suits. Milt wen to take Roger & Lonzo to Band practice & he brot the boxes of clothes up from Mable's. Milt & Jap went to the show & I rode with them up town the on up to Auxiliary meeting with Minnie & Bob & Maggie. We initiated 6 new members at meeting.

Milt went on a day shift this A.M. We all went to S.S. with Ern & Maggie, even Tiny, Jerry & Diane went. After we got home we ate lunch & cleaned up the house before Milt came. Lonzo drove Ern's car to meeting tonite so he & Maggie didn't go with us. Milt, Roger & I went in our own car & Roger stayed to "Fireside" & came home with Lonzo.

Minnie called me abt 6:15 & said Aunt Delie passed away at 2:40 A.M. At 11 oclock Maggie & I , Lucille & Minnie went up up to the morgue & dressed Aunt Delie. The funeral was at 4 P.M. There was quite a large crowd & lots of lovely flowers. All 4 of her children were there & Renie's 2 daughters. Verd, Kim & Balis were speakers. Ern gave the opening prayer & Milt the Benediction. John Hunt dedicated the grave. After the funeral we went over & talked to Uncle Almie & the kids a while before we came home. Dick & Phil cam up in their new car.

I ironed till midnite & Minnie run the mangle then she slept till 3 and after she woke up & I lay down & slept till 5:15. The Dr. said at 9 oclock that Aunt Delie couldn't last till morning but at 11 when I left there wasn't any change. Eudora & I bought some underwear & a petticoat, then Al & Renie brot me home about 11 oclock. I ate lunch then slept a while. I ironed a lot of pieces & pieced some more blocks.

After supper Monroe, Mildred & I went down to see Luella & Renie. They were at Minnie's. About 10 or 12 people were there for an hour or 2. Minnie wanted me to stay all nite with her so I stayed.

Wednesday, March 23, 1949
It has been stormy & cold all day bu we washed anyway & part of the clothes got dry. After lunch Tiny & I sprinkled the clothes & took care of them. Maggie said Renie & Al came abt. 9 A.M. & Luella cam on the 2 P.M. bus.
Tuesday, March 22, 1949
I rode to Cottonwood with Mrs. Hodges & went to get my shoes at William's Shoe Shop. Martha came down there & we walked up town together. Then I went to the 5 & 10 & got some glasses, and over to Minnie's. I ironed a while then she & I put out a big washing, then ate lunch & started another washing. Aunt Delie sure has been low all day. I went to R.S. Naydine gave the Social Science lesson. Milt came for me at 4 & we came home. Had a flat tire on the trailer. Milt, Jerry, & ackie & I rode up the hill with Mr. & Mrs. Van Derin & Monroe went down to help Pop fix his tire. I called Renie & Luella & told them how had their mother is.

Monday, March 21, 1949
I rode down to Clarkdale with Mrs. Hodges & went to Mable's. I was thru washing & ironing & had the clothes taken care of when Mable & Nancy got home. I walked over by Carol's & got a ride up the hill & got home about 12:35. I rested a while & started sewing quilt blocks. After Milt left, I sewed till 11:45 P.M.

Sunday, March 20, 1949
We went to the first District Conference of the Oak Creek District at 9 a.m. then one at 10:30. Pres Ericson & Sister Mendonhall were there from the Mission Home. We came home ate dinner & went back to the 2 P.M. meeting, after it Milt came home & I went over to Minnies & I stayed till the 5 oclock meeting then Roger & I came home with Ern & Maggie. I met Bro. & Sister Muirhead from William's Branch.
Saturday, March 19, 1949
Today is Phil's, Chuck's, Roger's & Diane's birthday. I've been sewing all day. This evening Dick & Phil came up & ate supper. Milt, Roger & Jerry went fishing, Jap went with them. We cut the birthday cake before the boys went home. I cleaned & pressed Milt's pants & Roger's pants & washed his brown shirt & put black lace on my black dress.

I've felt sort of (goofy) & shaky all day, but I ironed then sewed & cut quilt blocks. Milt woke up abt. 1:30 & went up town. He brot the Birthday cake down. It sure is pretty. After supper I sewed till after 11:30.

Tiny went down to Flora's to get her camera & I washed. I was just finishing when she came home. I started sewing quilt blocks. I cut & sewed all afternoon & abt. 5 I began to feel sick & dizzy & went to bed. I sure was sick for about 2 hours. Tiny got supper & washed the dishes. Martha & the kids came up & stayed awhile.

Bob's & Flora's 9th Anniversary. I went down with Phil. Martha came over & we ate dinner & cake. I stayed with Penny & Rita while Flora took Bobby to the Doctor. Then Phil took me over to town & I caught the 6:35 bus & came home. Milt wen to a A.G.P.A. meeting at Clarkdale. I left Tiny's camera down at Flora's.

I rode down to Mable's with Mrs Hodges, abt. 8 oclock. I got thru washing at 10:15 & thru ironing at 11:30. I left the other clothes on the line & went to do my R.S. teaching. I went to Norma's then Cecile's then Ruth's & I met Ruth's mother. When I got back to Mable's she & Bryce had gone to work. I stopped at Mildred Schurig's? then at Carol Drumming's then got a ride home. After I rested awhile I sewed quilt blocks.

Milt & I went to S.S. Maggie & Lonzo rode with us. Sister Trampp?? came home with us after S.S. so did Roger. Then after dinner he rode down to Choir Practice with Ern & Maggie. Then we went down about 6:30 & went to see Aunt Delie & Uncle Almie the on to meeting at 7:30. Pres. McConkie & Sister McConkie & Harold B. Lee were the speakers. There sure was a big crowd. We got home abt 9:45 & Milt rested a while & went to work.


Saturday, March 12, 1949
Tiny & Carmen walked up town. Milt & Jerry fixed the sewer pipe & cleaned the lower yard. I ironed then washed the big socks & bleached them. Tiny went to the show in Clarkdale, she rode down with Ern & Maggie. Roger didn't come home. Mrs. Koontz took Uncle Almie to Prescott & he went on to Phoenix.

Friday, March 11, 1949
Tiny walked up town & got the mail. Milt & Jerry went fishing. I started the washing & was nearly finished when Tiny came home. Then Mildred & I went up to the hospital & I got my shot. After I got home we got the clothes in & took care of them. Milt & Jerry got home about 8 oclock. Roger went up to the Green & Gold Ball at the club house in Cottonwood.
